Carlsbad Red is a delightful wine inspired by the spirit of Carlsbad’s lifestyle, bar-b-ques, good friends, and a well integrated balance of age and youth.
As purveyors of fine wines, Carlsbad Wine Merchants selected this unique cuvee as an expression of the rich tapestry of tastes, color and soft structure that is the embodiment of Carlsbad living. From the label, a colorful abstract from a local artist, to the bouquet and flavors, the senses are seduced by an expression of color and scents that meld Carlsbad’s warm and friendly outdoor living, with a sense of sunsets, berry fields and flower fields.
Carlsbad Red is a proprietary blend of Zinfandel and Petite Sirah selected from barrel aged cask stock cellared by Larson Family Wines in Sonoma, exclusively for Carlsbad Wine Merchants, under the supervision of winemaker John Eppler and direction from Kathy Bankerd, proprietor of Carlsbad Wine Merchants.
This unique cuvee embodies the spirit of the California Zinfandel grape with fruit selected from vineyards primarily located in the central coast up through Sonoma County. With aromas and flavors of raspberries, cherries, spice and black pepper, this wine delights the palate and is perfect with anything grilled, spicy sauces and dishes and bar-b-que.
